The Premier experience — what to expect after you book with me
It is completely normal to be nervous, whether it is your first or your tenth.
How much will it hurt? That always depends on the area, the number of working hours and your individual pain threshold. Where the skin is thinner (ribs, back of the hand, foot, wrist) it can be more uncomfortable. Generally 3–4 working hours is manageable. That is usually how I split up designs, but longer and shorter sessions are also possible.
Tip: there are a few things worth paying attention to so the experience is as pleasant as possible:
- It is worth choosing a calm period.
- Always eat properly, drink plenty of fluids and get enough rest before your appointment, since a tattoo puts a strain on your body.
- If you are coming in for an appointment lasting several hours, it is worth bringing enough food and drink.
- Come as you are. Choose comfortable clothes you feel good in, even for several hours.
- Body hair — nothing to be embarrassed about, it is perfectly natural. If needed, I prepare the area before the tattoo.
How do we start?
As a first step we talk through your ideas thoroughly over a nice soft drink or a cup of tea. We can do this at a separate appointment or on the day of the tattoo. There is no rush; every design gets my full attention, whether it is a small line piece or a full-arm composition.
Tip: before booking, think about the following:
- Where do you want it and roughly what size — are there several areas that could work?
- Is this the only piece you want for now, or would you continue later?
- Is there an existing piece in that area that it should match in color and style?
- Which elements and details matter most to you, the ones you definitely want to see?
- Collect inspiration images in the theme and style — it makes the design stage run more smoothly.
I welcome you in a friendly, homely setting. My aim is that alongside quality work, the tattooing process is a pleasant experience for you. It is a private studio, so only you — and anyone who comes with you — are in the space during the tattoo.
After the design stage the stencil goes on with transfer paper, and you can see it in several placements and sizes if you are not sure where it looks better. Do not be afraid to speak up if something is not right. The stencil is easy to move until it feels right to you. That does not make you difficult — on the contrary, what matters to me is that it works for you.
Once we have found the right one, I prepare the sterile workstation while the stencil dries.
Then comes the really exciting part: the tattoo can begin. We can take breaks if you need them. It is also fine if you reach a point where that is enough for one day and we continue another time. Always speak up if you need anything.
In the meantime I am happy to talk you through the process; if the area allows it we can chat, but silence is fine too.
All done?
I clean the finished tattoo, we take a great photo of it, and then the film goes on. We go through the aftercare thoroughly, so you know what to watch out for given your own lifestyle and habits (e.g. sports, travel). If anything is unclear, ask.
At this point the tattoo is not yet „finished” — the process completes once it has healed. Pay attention to your tattoo's aftercare during this period, because that is what will keep it durable and beautiful for years. If you notice anything unusual, let me know.
Once it has healed, I always welcome a photo and a short note about how it went. What matters most to me is that you enjoy wearing the finished piece day after day.
